4-Hydroxytamoxifen (4-HT) is the active metabolite of tamoxifen which binds estrogen receptors (ER) and estrogen-related receptors (ERR) with estrogenic and anti-estrogenic effects. It is a cell permeable, selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM).
